THEY REALLY DON’T | David Cohen & Don Caron

posted in: Political Parody | 3

The rift between the political parties has never been so extreme, and yet it’s based on imaginary threats and purposefully induced fears, while the day-to-day needs and preferences of the voters on both sides are more and more aligned. Lyrics by David Cohen
Executive Producers Don Caron and Jerry Pender

LYRICS
BY DAVID COHEN

Rows of those who sit and stare
And damage done beyond compare
And fragile egos everywhere
All much to our dismay

It seems their goals are meant to shun
They pick and choose who gets to run
So many things that could get done
But hate stands in their way

They just want rights for one side now
From whom can vote to where and how
It’s their delusions that befall
They really don’t want rights for all

“Loons” and “Goons” who cheat and steal
The queasy way they make us feel
When many scary tales come real
We must not turn away

For now it’s just a hollow show
They never seem to let it go
So, if you care they’ve got to know
Our thoughts we must convey

We know what’s fair for all sides now
But they’re not there so still somehow
It’s civil progress they will stall
They really don’t want fair at all

After years of feeling down
We thought we gained some solid ground
Dreams anew with light in view
We thought we paved the way

But now they just act more deranged
We shake our heads, ‘cause they won’t change
Well, so much harm and nothings gained
We wonder every day

We know what’s right for all sides now
We must step up while still somehow
It’s their exclusions that must fall
‘Till Freedom’s really Free for all

Very true. I just wish the 40% would open their ears and listen

Dark lyrics, but beautifully sung and the images are magnificent.
