Even with an election of such enormous importance we still hear people commenting that voting doesn’t matter and can’t make a difference. This parody is a response to that perspective. Let’s start fixing this now. Nothing great was ever accomplished by giving up.

LYRICS to IF YOU’VE GIVEN UP ALREADY
We’re engulfed in a deception
another day another lie
The big orange treachery continues on
We’re getting tired of that guy.
Republicans obstruct the voting
They claim that they’re reducing fraud
And if they should all get struck by a random bolt lightning
we’d know there was a god
They fear the loss of their white power
But that would be our finest hour
when our crayon carton contains all of the hues
And everyone can freely choose.
And if you’ve given up already
Then you’ve surrendered far too early
If our voting doesn’t have any effect
then why do they stack the deck
Don’t try carrying the weight of the world
Use your vote and that’s enough
This country never could have taken on a life
If they had stopped when it got rough.
Obstacles are opportunities to thrive
Success will hide behind defeat
And when it’s over there is no acclaim
Those who thought that they could cheat
They fear the loss of their white power
But that will be our finest hour
when our crayon carton contains all of the hues
And everyone can freely choose.
And if you’ve given up already
Then you’ve surrendered far too early
There are cookies in the oven, so don’t just walk away.
You’ll burn your kitchen down that way.

The Trump brand has lost its mojo.
His golf course in Scotland has lost dough,
to the tune of millions,
and Trump wants billions,
for “his wall” that has hit the wall of “NO”!

Mark– That approach is far too radical for most stats to tolerate. Ohio(where I’m at) will be using the old system of registering to vote when the next century rolls around(and likely the century after that, too). I’m actually surprised we have newer voting machines now instead of the old booths with curtains.

Here in Oregon, all voting is by mail. If you are registered and have a mailing address you get a ballot. Ballots can be mailed in or dropped off at official stations liberally sprinkled around the county. Purging the polls is very difficult.
Our ballots are ready for a drop box. Quite simple and less costly to the county. If you title a vehicle or renew tags, you are automatically registered to vote.
