BROKEN PROMISE LAND | Don Caron & Ibid Anon

posted in: Political Parody | 2

From mass deportations, to mass firings to the crippling of our social support institutions, in two short months we have changed into something unrecognizable; Something we could accurately call “The Broken Promise Land.”

BROKEN PROMISE LAND
Lyrics by Don Caron

Deportations they justify
With accusations and a savage lie
No Due Process, no need for Truth
Too late to fix it in the voting booth
Too late to fix it in the voting booth

Heartless winds blow out the light
Cruelty wears the Cloak of Might
When Justice failed to take a stand
We became the Broken Promise Land
We are now the Broken Promise Land
Oooh, Oooh

Mass firings with no thought or plan
Incompetence from the Top Con Man
Agencies disappear from sight
leaving lies and a cheap soundbite
leaving lies and a cheap soundbite

The flag waves high, with hollow pride
Promises crumble, Reps run and hide
Systems erased with a sleight of hand
Chaos consumes our vast Heartland

Heartless winds blow out the light
Cruelty wears the cloak of might
When Justice failed to take a stand
We became the Broken Promise Land
We are now the Broken Promise Land
Oooh, Oooh

Balance of power gone awry
Separate but equal just another lie
Congress to weak to even try
Tell the world it’s time to wave goodbye
Tell the world it’s time to wave goodbye

Heartless winds blow out the light
Cruelty wears the cloak of might
When Justice failed to take a stand
We became the Broken Promise Land
We are now the Broken Promise Land
oooh, oooh

Hey there… great parody, but so sad. Just wanted to say I noticed a type and wish you were able to correct it. “Congress to weak to even try” s/b “too” weak… I’m sure it was just an oversight since you spelled it correctly elsewhere!
